Need help with paintball gun!?
Hey, i have a tippmann a5 and i have a question that anyone with a paintball gun cud probably answer. I keep hooking my co2 up and its like co2 is not even getting into the gun!!! I dont know if theres something wrong with the canister or the part you hook the gun up to. what is the part you hook the co2 supposed to look like? does it have a little little silver pin that pushes it down, or is it a round circle. Please answer as soon as you can. Maybe im doing something really stupid and i dont realize it. The guns cocked, the canisters full, i screw the canister on freakin tight, everything
To answer one of your questions, yes the ASA has a little tit/pin/knob sticking out inside of it to depress the pin valve on the tank. Now there's really only two places you could screw the tank into and both are correct spots. So I can't foresee you putting it in the wrong place. The main place people screw the tan into is the ASA mounted underneath the grip. If you have been trying that with no luck then the air line could very well be plugged. Try unscrewing the steel braid line on the Tombstone adapter and screwing the tank directly into it. If this still doesn't work then your problem is likely much more severe. One thing I'd should say, I can't recall if the Tombstone adapter has a pin in it to depress the pin valve on the tank.
As for Chris's reply, "dont use co2 it is bad for your gun, it corrodes the components inside. HPA is much better for your gun and because it is used at a higher pressure you get more shots out of a tank." it's not correct.
CO2 can be harmful to the marker, but it's generally only when liquid CO2 gets in it, not CO2 in it's gas form. If a person is doing proper maintenance on the marker and cleaning/relubing it on a regular basis then corrosion is the least of your worries. The oil will protect the internals, but CO2 will break it down much quicker than HPA/N2 and the O-rings will break down more rapidly as well. Thus the reason for slightly increased maintenance.
As for getting more shots from HPA because it's used at a higher pressure, that's incorrect too. It is not used at a higher pressure, in fact CO2 can create much higher operating pressures. HPA is regulated while CO2 is not. Also, a 24oz CO2 tank yields roughly 1500 shots. So unless you are using a 88/4500 tank or larger, a 24oz tank will yield more shots. Now a 68/4500 will yield about the same number of shots as a 20oz CO2 tank, but it's only around the physical size of a 16oz CO2 tank. I'm not too sure where I'm going with this anymore, so I'm just going to end it here.
