What's the best paint?

How do I fix my paintball marker?

I own a stryker str 1, the other day i used it for the first time and at first it barely shot the paint and it wqas really dissapointing. Then after rinsing the barrel and holding the gun upwards, it worked a little better. It still wasn't that accurate cuz the balls curved once they go past like 40ft, and it still chopped the paint a lot so I had to keep cleaning it out. What can I do about the accuracy and the chopped paintballs? I bought it from sports authority and lost the receipt, so at best maybe i can get store credit. That's why I want to know if there is another option like a longer barrel or something i dont know.

A longer barrel does not necessarily mean better accuracy. Most cheaper guns come with a barrel that isn't very accurate. If you don buy another barrel get a 14".
A good value barrel is the smart parts progressive or j&j ceramic.
But...
There are many factors in how will your gun performs.
Bad paint can obviously affect your accuracy, and can also be brittle which will make it break in your gun. Try to keep your paint around 70 degrees, cold paint makes it brittle.Spend a little more and buy your paint from a local paintball shop they can help you choose some better paint.

The other thing to do is turn your velocity down a little, sometimes people think they need to shoot 300fps because the field allows it and they think they will shoot further. Keep it around 270-260 with cheaper guns, it puts lees stress on the ball and can actually get the ball further because it will shoot more accurate.
